One well-heeled client is about to take delivery of the third commission in Rolls-Royce's coachbuilt Droptail series. The Arcadia Droptail takes its name from the realm of Arcadia, a place of "heaven on Earth" depicted in Greek mythology, while the design is inspired by the tranquil forests and gardens of Southeast Asia. As with any Coachbuilt Rolls-Royce, handcrafted details abound. The interior is trimmed in white and brown with intricately curved Santos Straight Grain wood inserts that took over 8,000 hours to create. The timepiece fitted to the interior sports the most complex clock face ever created by Rolls-Royce with hour markers just 0.1mm thick and painted by hand with a microscope and camera. The Coachbuilt Droptail is available only to select Rolls-Royce clients by invitation only.
